The House Montagu overlooks the lake of Biel and offers assisted living in 21 single rooms, most of them with a view towards the lake.
Built between 1859 and 1864, this beautiful late classicist building was inaugurated on 14 June 1864. The building was designed by Captain Montagu, who was born in London in 1786 and spent 5 years of his youth in La Neuveville.
At the age of 72, he bequeathed part of his fortune to the city to build "a hospice". The kitchen has been brought back up to the latest state of kitchen technology with a renewal of the range. The Salvis VisionPRO range is equipped with 2 surface-covering induction hobs and a steel warming plate. The work surface set down to 700mm was designed for the existing Vario-Cooker. In the base there are 2 hold-o-mats which are well known for night and tender cooking. The folding trays on the Salvis VisonPRO range support the easier handling in the kitchen when serving meals.
The still existing kettle Salvis Crystal has been providing reliable service for more than 15 years.
